Now that you've made it to the bottom of this gallery I feel I can share the vision I had for this. This is an imaginary cave that exists on a planet where caves are not expected. Caves that we are familiar with are formed most often through water interaction with stone, and this planets environment is not known for its water.
Empowered by the team I worked with to create something unique, I imagined a structure created when boulders form a natural barrier to one side, and wind-blown sediment creates the surrounding walls of a cave over time. The sediment walls would likely be porous, so native leech-like creatures burrow in and out of the habitat seeking shelter, leaving behind evidence of their movement through patterns along the interior walls.
